For more than 30 years, New Hampshire Humanities has gathered New Hampshire’s corporate, civic, academic, and philanthropic communities together for networking and inspiration during its Annual Celebration. Nearly 600 guests attend the Annual Celebration, which raises funds vital to New Hampshire Humanities' ability to bring free public humanities programs to the people of New Hampshire.
Humanities to Go
Humanities to Go is our most popular program, bringing 700+ free events to hundreds of New Hampshire communities each year. Humanities to Go reaches tens of thousands of Granite Staters, providing opportunities for life-long learning and face-to-face conversations on a wide array of subjects from New Hampshire's Colonial history to the lasting impact of sheep on the state's landscape.
"Nice job, New Hampshire Humanities. I love the way you bring a variety of programs to the people all over the Granite State!"

Connections is New Hampshire Humanities' book discussion program for adult new readers offered in partnership with adult basic education and ESOL classes, the prisons, and refugee resettlement organizations. Participants are both native speakers and new Americans. The program uses the best of children’s literature and New Hampshire Humanities-trained facilitators to promote English language skills, promote a culture of reading, nurture conversation in which readers contribute their own ideas and stories, and reinforce family literacy.
"Through books and writing and growing in myself, I slowly learned how to express myself and communicate better than I ever thought possible. Because of this change, I went from a quiet, soft-spoken person to a more outspoken confident person. Now I love to write and spend countless hours writing in a composition notebook."
