Administer your SHARP grant
Congratulations on receiving a New Hampshire Humanities (NHH) SHARP Grant. This page provides all the information and documents necessary to administer your grant. If you have any questions about your award, please contact Agnes Burt (aburt@nhhumanities.org).
Grant Terms and Conditions
- The grant period is August 1, 2021 to December 31, 2022. All grant funds must be obligated within this period.
- Grant-funded activities must begin no later than January 1, 2022.
- Grant funds may be expended only for project activities and budget items specified in the project proposal and budget approved by New Hampshire Humanities.
- Proposed amendments to the proposal or budget must be submitted in writing to the NHH Executive Director for review and approval.
- In accordance with NEH regulations, grant funds cannot be used for the following:
- unallowable expenses as defined in 2 CFR 200 Subpart E - Cost Principles;
- overlapping project costs with any other pending or approved application(s) for federal funding and/or approved federal awards;
- funds for activities supported by other non-NEH federal funds;
- competitive regranting;
- cancellation costs;
- equipment costs in excess of 20 percent of total project costs;
- travel (both foreign and domestic);
- construction, purchase of real property, major alteration and renovation;
- environmental sustainability;
- collections acquisition;
- the preservation, organization, or description of materials that are not regularly accessible for research, education, or public programming;
- promotion of a particular political, religious, or ideological point of view;
- advocacy of a particular program of social or political action;
- support of specific public policies or legislation;
- lobbying; and
- projects that fall outside of the humanities and the humanistic social sciences (including the creation or performance of art; creative writing, autobiographies, memoirs, and creative nonfiction; and quantitative social science research or policy studies).

NHH highly encourages grant recipients to submit their interim and final reports as soon as they have used all grant funds, even if this is well before the formal deadline. Submitting late or inaccurate reports may impact your organization’s ability to receive future grants from NHH.
Submission
To submit the Interim Report:

- Download the NHH SHARP Interim and Final Report to your desktop.
- Complete the interim report field for every question.
- Save a copy of the file to your desktop.
- Click here to submit your report.
- Enter the requested information and upload your saved interim report file.
- Click submit.
- You will receive a confirmation email from NHH when your report is received.
To submit the Final Report:
- Open the interim report file you saved to your desktop.
- Complete the final report field for every question. If nothing has changed since you submitted the interim report, write: No changes.
- Save the file to your desktop.
- Click here to submit your report.
- Provide the requested information and upload your final report.
- Click “Submit.”
- You will receive a confirmation email from NHH when your report is received.
Acknowledgment
An acknowledgment of New Hampshire Humanities’ support must be fully visible and/or audible on all materials, projects, or events resulting from a SHARP award. This includes but is not limited to film, radio and new media productions, publicity and press materials, project websites, displays, exhibits, public reports, etc.
Include the following acknowledgement on all materials:
“This project was made possible with support from New Hampshire Humanities, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Humanities. Learn more at www.nhhumanities.org.”
