Sara Withers earned a PhD in Anthropology from Brandeis University and currently lectures on anthropology at UNH. She organized and conducted nearly 40 oral history interviews that served as the basis for the documentary "Uprooted: Heartache and Hope in New Hampshire," giving her first-hand knowledge of the experiences of refugee and immigrant newcomers to the state. Withers has also facilitated public presentations and discussions of "Uprooted." Her additional cross-cultural experience includes ethnographic research in Mexico, the United States, and Sri Lanka.
