New Hampshire Humanities (NHH) announces that the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation’s Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund has awarded a grant of $2,000 to support in person Humanities to Go programming in collaboration with White Mountains Community College and the Randolph, Berlin, and Gorham Public Libraries.

Humanities to Go is NHH’s statewide speakers’ bureau that offers free, high-quality cultural programming to the public through local non-profit organizations and community groups, at minimal cost to the host. More than 450 programs presented by scholars are available every year throughout the state. The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation’s Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund will help make Humanities to Go programming more accessible for communities in Coos County by supporting organizations’ ability to fund and host traveling scholars from the other parts of the state. The funds will pay for the scholars’ honorarium, travel costs, and an overnight stay with dinner, enabling scholars to travel further for an evening program and engage more with the local community.

The mission of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation’s Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund is “to serve as a resource for the people of Coös County and neighboring communities in New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and southern Québec to forge their own pathways to well-being and cultivate a region that thrives.”

“We are deeply grateful to the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation’s Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund for their significant and lasting investment in the people of Coos County. Everyone deserves access to free programming that entertains, enriches, and enlivens,” said Beth Salerno, Interim Program Director at New Hampshire Humanities. “The Randolph, Berlin, and Gorham libraries, along with White Mountains Community College, have been strong partners in bringing rich humanities programming to their communities. These funds enable these local institutions to select from a wider range of topics and speakers to meet community needs and give residents of Coos more equal access to New Hampshire Humanities programs and resources.”
