New Hampshire Humanities invites the public to its 2025 Annual Celebration of the Humanities on Thursday, October 9, at the Bank of NH Stage, 16 South Main Street in downtown Concord. This year’s signature event features an engaging conversation between renowned Constitutional scholar and author Akhil Reed Amar and journalist Laura Knoy, co-hosted with the Rudman Center at UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law.

Tickets are now available through the Capitol Center for the Arts box office. Humanities Champions tickets are $166 and include the New Hampshire Humanities Champions Reception from 5:30-7:00 pm, along with premium seating at the program. Standard Admission tickets are $44. Doors open at 6:00 pm and the program begins at 7:00 pm. For more information, visit www.nhhumanities.org/celebrate, call (603) 224-4071, or email development@nhhumanities.org.

At the heart of the evening is a spirited and thought-provoking conversation between Amar and Knoy. Together they will explore the roots of American democracy, the evolution of the Constitution, and timely questions about equality, freedom, and civic engagement—topics at the core of Amar’s new book, Born Equal: Remaking America’s Constitution, 1840–1920. A signed copy of Born Equal can be reserved with your ticket, and books will be available for purchase at the event, courtesy of Gibson’s Bookstore.

For over 50 years, New Hampshire Humanities has connected people through history, literature, philosophy, and civic dialogue. Each fall, the Annual Celebration of the Humanities brings together leaders in the cultural, civic, academic, business, and philanthropic sectors for an evening of inspiration, conversation, and support for the humanities. This year’s celebration is especially vital, as recent federal cuts to humanities funding make community support more important than ever. Proceeds from this event will support New Hampshire Humanities’ ability to sustain statewide humanities programs.
