Keeping Faith: 250 Years of Shakerism in America

Keeping Faith commemorates the 250th anniversary of the Shakers’ arrival in America. This exhibition features ordinary objects with extraordinary stories of the earliest Shakers' experiences. Handed down from one Shaker to another through time, these relics served as one means with which Shakers created and share a common history. The Shakers' faith, along with these founding stories, helped this religious sect to become the nation's longest utopian community. Visit the exhibition on August 10 for free. Afterwards, the exhibit is included with Village admission.

This program was funded in part by a New Hampshire Humanities Community Project Grant.
